Meet Our Teachers

Tamara Davis has been employed at MSC for 5 1/2 years and loves working with Infants, Toddlers and Two’s. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Education Degree in Multicultural Early Intervention. Born and raised in Jamaica, Tamara’s hobbies include interior decorating and dancing. She is looking forward to an exciting school year with the Dancing Dolphins and providing her students with a meaningful and stimulating experience in order to enhance their abilities.
Gretchen Jones has worked at MSC for the past 5 years with Infants/Toddlers and Twos. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Early Education. Gretchen has been married for three years. She has a puppy named Cooper and a baby girl named Reagan! Gretchen’s goals with the children, families and staff of the Goofy Giraffes are to build strong relationships in order to work together to have an fantastic year!
Allison Figueroa has worked at The Mailman Segal Center for the past year teaching 2s and Infant & Toddler. She has her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Care and Education, and is currently attending NSU to obtain her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Allison is the proud mother of a 7 year old son. She is drawn to anything related to early childhood education and is thankful to play a part in the growth and development of her Precious Puppies!
Amber Ryan has been employed at MSC for 13 years. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from NSU and is now applying for her Doctorate in Early Childhood Education. Amber has presented at The Association of Independent Schools of FL and has trained staff and parents for community outreach initiatives. Amber's musical theater background and passion for the arts is evident in her classroom! Her Snuggly Sea Otters can look forward to a year filled with music, art, and dramatic play! Amber is the proud mother of two boys, ages 3 and 4, who both attend MSC.
Carolyn Richards joined the MSC Team in 2009 and has Bachelor's Degrees in both English and Psychology. Carolyn is currently pursuing her Master of Education Degree in Multicultural Intervention at Nova University. Carolyn is looking forward to a great year with her team and the Loving Leopards!
Rose was born in Jamaica and lived in the United Kingdom she joined MSC this summer as a part of our camp program and was such a great fit that she has now become a part of our pre-k staff! Rose has 17 years of teaching experience in Infant/Toddler, Preschool, and Elementary School with her Master’s in Education History of Childhood. In addition, Rose is a vocalist and has taught music for over 20 years. She loves horses, horseback riding, and all kinds of water sports. The call name, Mighty Eagles, was chosen because of Rose’s desire to see and every child excel, grow, and soar like an eagle!!
Marilyn Morales has been employed at MSC for two years. She has her Master's Degree in Preschool Education. Marilyn is passionate about teaching and just loves science and exploring nature. Family is most important to her and she and her husband are expecting their first child. Marilyn and the Bouncing Beetles are going to have an amazing year exploring, discovering and learning about the world around them!
Rachel Heery has worked at MSC for the past 4 years teaching the 2's and 3's. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and is currently attending Nova to receive her BA in Pre-K Primary Education. Rachel loves spending time with her family and friends (which includes her 3 cats)! She is also a huge football fan – Go Redskins! Rachel is very excited to have a fantastic school year with her friends in The Friendly Frogs.
Megan Gill is a first time employee at MSC who has taught preschool through 8th grade. She has her Master's Degree in Childhood Education. Megan is passionate about her family and enjoys spending all of her time with her husband and 3 year old son. She loves reading and running. Megan's hope for her Little Lions is to create a love for learning by capturing the interests of the children. She is looking forward to learning all about the children and creating a fun, nurturing learning environment.

Elena Silverio has been teaching two year old children for the past four years. This is her first year at MSC, but Elena is looking forward to a long relationship with our program. Elena is passionate about education and children and will continue her education at Nova University next summer in their Master’s program in the Speech & Language Pathology Program.

Allowing the Buzzing Bees to thrive and have fun in a loving, developmentally appropriate environment is just one of Elena's goals for this school year!

Ann Caraganis has worked at MSC for one year. She holds her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education. Ann has taught for almost 40 years and is passionate about children and her job.

Ann hails from Massachusetts, is married and has two children. Within her teaching style she enjoys a partnership with families and finding out what each and every child needs to make their learning experience valuable! She is excited to get to know her Terrific Turtles and share her years of knowledge with them!

Monica Polanin has been at MSC for the past 25 years and had taught the 2s, 3s, and 4s. She holds her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Kentucky University. Monica has two sons who are in High School. She coaches swimming and loves exercising!

It is Monica's goal to make learning fun and is most anxious to work together with the parents in The Piglets to make this year a great one!

Pam Levine has worked at the Mailman Segal Center for the past 28 years and has taught the 2s, 3s, and 4s. She holds her Master's Degree in Pre-K/Primary Education.

Pam has two grown daughters and a new grandson!! She is fluent in French and loves reading, Sudoku and Crossword Puzzles.

One of Pam's goals for this school year is to help the children and families in The Panda Bears be all they can be. She offers a wonderful message to her parents:" Two great things you can give your children; one is roots, the other is wings."(Hodding Carter)

Sherryl Voskovitz is a 29 year employee at the Mailman Segal Center who has taught 2, 3, and 4 year old children. Sherryl has her BA in Business and her Certification to teach children Birth through 4 years. She has been married for 37 years and has two grown children. Her daughter will be married this year.

Sherryl's goals are to create and nurture well-rounded, independent Busy Bears who will develop a love for school and lifelong learning.

Smyrna Hernandez is thrilled to begin her first year at MSC with the Butterflies in Room 1158!She has her Bachelor's Degree in School Psychology and her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Smyrna has been in the field of Early Childhood for the past 17 years. Married, with 2 children, Smyrna loves spending time with her family and travelling.

Smyrna believes in promoting an atmosphere of open communication and respect in her classroom and in working in partnership with parents in the education of their children.

Nancy Meyers has been employed by the Mailman Segal Center for the past 19 years. She obtained her Bachelor's Degrees in Elementary Education, Learning Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders.

Nancy is married and has 2 daughters and 2, soon to be 3 grandchildren!

Nancy loves Literacy and Science and one of her teaching goals is to make sure that all of the Mighty Mice love coming to school and develop a love for learning.

Lana Kriss has taught at the Mailman Segal Center for 25 years. She has her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and her Master's in Education. Lana is married and has two daughters.

Lana is passionate about literacy, books, art, and music and is excited to instill a love of learning to her Mighty Ducks! She is looking forward to teaching her children many things through exploration and a well-planned curriculum.
