Getting Started Checklist

Current Students Migrating To Live@edu
  1. Activate your Live@edu student account. If you have not already done so follow this link: nova.edu/movetolive and initiate the MoveToLive process. This will also provide you with your temporary Live@edu password.
  2. Verify your Live@edu account is active by logging out of any active SharkLink or hotmail sessions and logging into outlook.com. (Your Live@edu ID is yourusername@nova.edu; the full email address is required to login with the temporary password). If you are unable to log in, contact the NSU Help Desk for additional assistance.
  3. Change your Live@edu password.
    1. Once you have logged into outlook.com with your Live@edu account, locate the "Options" drop down menu on the upper right side of the interface just below your user name.
    2. Choose "See All Options" and then select "Change your password" from the Shortcuts list on the right. This will open your Live@edu Account Overview page.
    3. Locate the "Account Security" section and then find "Password." You will see a series of astericks (*) indicating your current password. To the far right you will see the word "change" in all lower case; click on "change" and you will be taken to the "Change your password" form.
  4. Setup your Live@edu security question and retrieval information.
    1. Once you have logged into outlook.com with your Live@edu account, locate the "Options" drop down menu on the upper right side of the interface just below your user name.
    2. Choose "See All Options" and then select "Change your password" from the Shortcuts list on the right. This will open your Live@edu Account Overview page.
    3. Locate the "Account Security" section and then find "Security Info." To the right of that you will see the "manage" link; click it to access the "Manage security info" form. Providing as much information as you can on this page will help keep your account secure and aid in the future should you lose your password.
  5. Choose the email setup that is right for you. If you wish to forward your Live@edu email or access it through another client, you will find setup guides below organized by program and device type.
  6. Move over any email from the old SharkLink system. After January 22, 2012 students will still have access to the previous NSU mail system, but that mail storage will be phased out over time. To avoid losing any previous mail, follow the instructions in the section below labeled "Managing Old SharkLink Mail."
Newly Admitted Students
