Professor McCollaum is a local South-West Florida Native. His Primary and Secondary education was done locally in Ft Myers before pursuing his pre-professional education at the University of North Texas and Arizona State University before completing his Bachelor of Science Degree from Regents College. He attended the Western University of Health Sciences Physician Assistant Program (formerly College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific), and Graduated in 1996.
Since graduation, He has worked in Family Medicine, Medical Administration, and Urology. Prior to coming to NOVA Southeastern University, He was employed by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the Department of Urological Surgery. Professor McCollaum joined the faculty in 2007 as the Assistant Clinical Director and is the youngest of the faculty with 13 years of total practice experience. Marc is very active in the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. He was honored by the AAPA in 2008 and was recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He is currently serving as Florida's Chief Delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates and the President of the FAPA in 2009 as well as the President of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants Foundation, the charitable arm of the FAPA.
