Glenn E. Bigsby III, DO, FACOFP Glenn E. Bigsby III

Dr. Bigsby serves as Program Director and Department Chair at Nova Southeastern University's Physician Assistant Program-Orlando. Dr. Bigsby is a fourth generation Osteopathic Family Practice Physician.

He is a graduate of Iowa State University and earned his Doctor of Osteopathy at the College of Osteopathic Medicine & Surgery, Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Bigsby is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Dr. Bigsby's background has been varied and interesting. After completing his internship in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dr. Bigsby served as Medical Officer, US Army Medical Corps, with the 82nd Airborne division near Saigon. Following his military service, Dr. Bigsby practiced with a multi-specialty clinic in Cleveland, Oklahoma for five years. Dr. Bigsby returned to Iowa where he was Clinic Director for several clinics affiliated with the medical school in Des Moines. From 1976 to 1981 Dr. Bigsby was Medical Director for The Bankers Life Insurance Company (now The Principal). In 1981 Dr. Bigsby returned to private practice in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Dr. Bigsby then began a long and successful career in post graduate medical education. For over 20 years Dr. Bigsby served as Director of Medical Education for intern and residency programs in Colorado Springs, Des Moines, and Orlando. He developed and ran residency programs in the specialties of family practice, podiatry, and gynecologic/oncology. Dr. Bigsby has also worked for the State of Florida as an examiner for social security disability determinations and taught high school advances sciences.

Dr. Bigsby and his wife, Sue, reside in Orlando with their daughter, Catie. Catie is double majoring in harp performance and economics with a minor in finance at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Bigsby is also the proud father of Ginger, a special education teacher in the Durango, Colorado area; Geneen, an OB/GYN in Lewiston, Idaho; and Glenn IV a Gynecologic Oncology surgeon in Orlando, Florida. The Bigsby family celebrates the legacy of over 113 continuous years (so far) of practice in Osteopathic medicine with Glenn IV and Geneen as fifth generation Osteopathic Physicians. Dr. Bigsby is also the proud grandpa of Glenn V, Marlee, Maia, and Asher.

In his spare time Dr. Bigsby enjoys reading, studying quantum physics, and sharing his chair with his long-haired miniature dachshund "Brady". Dr. Bigsby also enjoys serving as "roadie" moving his daughter's harps for rehearsals and performances, dinners at home, listening to music, attending concerts and plays, and spending time with family and friends.
