Robin L. Hardy, Ed.D.Robin L. Hardy, Ed.D. '10, was named the 2011 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Middle Level of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA). Hardy will be honored at the South Carolina State House on February 2, 2011.


Heather R. (Hunter) Klein, J.D. ’00 was recently elected as the President of the 23rd Judicial Bar District for North Carolina for 2011 and will serve a one year term in this position. As of July 2010, Klein took a position with the Guardian ad Litem program as the Attorney Advocate for Wilkes and Ashe Counties in the 23rd Judicial District for North Carolina. As the Attorney Advocate, Klein represents children who have been removed from their parents by the Department of Social Services due to neglect, abuse or dependency issues. This position is in addition to the general practice that she has in Sparta, North Carolina.


Derrick Pledger, Ed.D.Derrick Pledger, Ed.D. ’11 is the founder of Advanced Concepts in Personal Development, a firm that started serving individuals in welfare-to-work programs, disheartened college students, and downsized employees. His first clients included the Urban League of Greater Cleveland, Cleveland Employment Training, and Catholic Charities. Advanced Concepts’ portfolio has expanded to provide more than 90 professional workshops to a broad array of institutions and organizations, including the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and Cleveland Job Corps. Pledger has also written and published numerous books to motivate and assist students with emotional and behavioral issues and challenges.

Robert Preziosi, D.P.A. ’77Dr. Preziosi’s book, Team NOW! A Resource for Team Leaders has just been published by Get to the Point Books in Dallas. The publisher specializes in situational learning packages. Preziosi is the Chair of Management and a Professor in the H Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at NSU.


Carol Taylor, M.S. ’96, M.S. ’09, published and wrote a health care guide which focuses on communication. Taylor teaches Medical Law and Ethics at Rasmussen College.


Julio Valle, M.S ’03, Ed.D ’10 was featured in the Orlando Sentinel in 2009 for being the first Hispanic Principal in Lake County Schools, Florida.
