Juliene Alvarado was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She moved to the States to continue her higher education at Nova Southeastern University where she completed a degree in Marketing and a minor in International Business in 2010. During that time, she worked as a Student Ambassador for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. She also spent a semester abroad in Italy, where she was able to learn and experience Italian culture. After graduating she continued working for the Undergraduate Admissions Office as an Admissions Counselor while pursuing her M.S. degree in International Business.
Nursing Student Specialist, Entry Level Nursing Program
Andrea Alvarez works for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions Office and specializes in helping students who wish to major in Health Professions, specifically in the Entry-Level Nursing program and the Pre-Nursing program.

Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Mensima Biney hails from the Garden State of New Jersey. She received her undergraduate degree from Rowan University in 1996 and graduated from NSU with an MBA in 2001. Mensima has been working in the University admissions department since 2004. She enjoys attending athletic games and programs on campus. Mensima is also an advisor for a student club on campus: Women with a Vision.
Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Emily Burr is from the Central New York area. She received her B.A. from Jacksonville University and her M.Ed. at Florida Atlantic University. She is currently the Assistant Director for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Matthew Butler is a Wisconsin native and earned his bachelor's degree from Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL. He is currently a recruiter in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Associate Director of International Recruitment
Ruben Delgado is originally from Puerto Rico. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Central Florida. Ruben has been working in higher education since 2000 and currently works for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as the Associate Director of International Recruitment. He enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with his family.
Director of Undergraduate Recruitment
Mary Friel is originally from New York but now calls Florida and NSU her home. NSU has been a place that has truly changed her life professionally, personally, and physically. Professionally, she began her career in Admissions in January of 1994 as an Admissions Counselor at a small private school in Buffalo, NY. She now serves as the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment at NSU, where she supervises both the counseling and recruitment teams. Personally, she completed a master's degree program at NSU in the School of Humanities and Social Science. Physically, she joined NSU's Biggest Loser Program which taught her healthy eating strategies for her busy schedule and got her back to a regular workout routine. When not working, studying or at the gym, she enjoys attending many of NSU's activities and athletic events where you will find her cheering on the NSU Sharks! NSU is an amazing place and she hopes it changes your life the way it has hers. Come for a visit and see if NSU is the place you will experience the next part of your life.
Zach is from Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Towson University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management. Zach is very proud to have studied in 5 countries around the world: USA, Australia, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. Zach is multilingual in English, Spanish and Portuguese and decided to move to Florida in 2009 to pursue a professional career in Education. He loves helping people achieve their goals and believes education is the backbone needed to support our families, communities and countries. Zach is pursuing his MBA in Management at Nova Southeastern University and looks forward to assisting students to realize their dreams.
Arturo Hodgson attended the University of South Florida and Florida Atlantic University for his Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications. He is also a graduate of Nova Southeastern University where he earned his Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and Public Administration and is currently enrolled in his Ph.D. program of Conflict Analysis and Resolution. He has worked in higher education for about 13 years, specializing in recruitment and retention. Being a part of NSU has impacted his life in many different, positive ways. Arturo encourages students to come up and talk with him whenever he is in their area. His territory includes all of the West Coast of Florida, from Pensacola to Naples and Everglades City, Georgia, Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, California and parts of New York.
Interim Coordinator of Special Programs
Shane Johnson is a South Florida native and has experience in developing and maintaining successful ongoing relationships in the field of higher education. He makes empowering and advocating for others part of his life's goals. He encourages education, collaboration, creativity, service excellence, and integrity. Shane Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University. One of Shane's many goals include becoming a large contributor to the South Florida community. He plans on doing this by donating his time to mentor students to pursue their goals and aspirations.
Clyde Lewis is originally from the twin island nation of Trinidad and Tobago and has been living in South Florida since 1997. His education includes an M.S. in Human Resource Management from Nova Southeastern University and a B.S. in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to joining the world of higher education, he held roles as an advocate for the elderly, chaired an international charity organization, and worked as a human resources manager. He has been involved in higher education for over five years and plans to advance his role in the field of academia.
Andrew London received a B.A. in Communication from Florida Atlantic University in 1997. Prior to working for NSU, Andrew was a licensed mortgage broker working in his field for more than ten years. Currently, he is enrolled at The Keller Graduate School working to attain a master's degree in accounting.

Patty Rockwood recruits mostly in the Northeast United States: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. She has been in higher education for over 20 years and has worked in undergraduate admissions at NSU since 2003. Patty has a Bachelor of Science degree from Buffalo State College and a Master of Science degree from SUNY at Buffalo.
Meghan Sandrock is originally from a small town just outside of Columbus, Ohio. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Tiffin University in 2008 where she was a student ambassador, cheerleader, and also played volleyball. She moved to South Florida in 2009 to pursue a professional career in higher education where she is now part of the NSU family. She loves everything about higher education and plans to pursue a Master’s degree in College and Student Affairs.
Candice Sawh is originally from the island of Trinidad and Tobago. Her education includes an undergraduate degree in Finance from Florida Atlantic University, an M.B.A. from The University of Phoenix, and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Analysis from Keller Graduate School of Management. Her work experience consists of being a high school math teacher, an investment analyst and a graduate admissions representative. She enjoys travelling, reading new motivational books and spending time with her family. Her passion, however, is to be surrounded by students and assisting them with their educational goals.

Mallory Scott is a true Floridian, born and raised in sunny South Florida. She has been working in the education industry for the past 3 years and is excited to be a part of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions team at NSU. She completed her M.B.A. at NSU in 2010 after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Miami. She looks forward to a long career with NSU by helping students as they embark on their educational endeavors.
Denver Stickrod usually gets asked two questions after he introduces himself; "is that your real name?" and "have you ever been to Denver, CO?" The answer is yes to both questions! He grew up in Illinois and worked as a graduate assistant in the university registrar's office while finishing his master's degree. This was the pivotal point in his life where he decided to embrace a path in academia. After graduating, he took a job working in the admissions office of a small, private university in Missouri. He now works in sunny Florida at one of the best institutions in the state. That institution is Nova Southeastern University.

Bridget Varisco is originally from Long Island, New York but has lived most of her life here in sunny, south Florida. She received a M.S. in Criminal Justice and Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University and a B.S. in Human Sciences from Florida State University. Bridget has been employed with Nova Southeastern University's Office of Undergraduate Admissions since September of 2007 and is the Assistant Director of Recruitment. She thoroughly enjoys working in higher education and assisting prospective students achieve their goals.
